Hi lovelies,

I would like to share with you my new hair color which is just a step away from the last hair color. Hairstylist added a little bit of green this time too. For those already following me on instagram, you have already seen a close up shot. So for once again shameless plug here – go follow closethuntress on instagram for my daily shenanigans.

This outfit screams put together to me. I actually wore this to the Origins’ Blogger Event and then also to work a week ago. The dress is a perfect work and play dress – Where you can throw things on and off to go from “I am here to work” to “I am here to dance”. The black statement necklace is probably the best 10 dollar investment I ever made. It livens up any solid outfit especially an all black ensemble. Every girl owns a million black dresses but adding a little variety in the style goes a long way. I love the puffed shoulder look that in for this season as it sort of adds an elegance to your outfit. The dress could have fallen flat as just another body hugging number but I definitely got asked where I got it from by several ladies due to the unique sleeves.

What does being Put Together mean? You see where I am going with this? Seems like most of my posts have a dual meaning these days. I hope you are enjoying reading them. There is such pressure on us human beings to be always so put together. We have to look our best, we have to talk our best and bring our best. But at the end of the day we have to take consolation in the fact – that none of us are really put together behind the perfect exteriors we chose to build and display. Folks appear shiny from the outside but if you get close to them you might just start picking up on the hints of stories that they have lived, pains that they have endured and what makes them – them.  I guess thats the reason why we call it “Put” together cause its almost added piece by piece to create a whole picture.

I am definitely a huge believer in the people who appear the most put together are the ones that are the most broken inside. I mean think about the celebrities? How many times we have heard a random story about someone famous who lost it all of a sudden? Even bloggers? Most of the female bloggers that we follow come from a place of pain. They have sad but beautiful stories about how they became who they became. So let me get to the point here – if we are all so aware of the imperfections each human beings has then why are we so quick to judge when the crack shows? Is it the surprise that from far someone looked like they knew everything but now their cover is blown once you got close? I mean seriously why can’t we empathize? Or do folks only want to associate themselves with perfections?

I for one love unique and different stories. I admire people who smile in the face of adversity – its a sign of strength. If you lived a cookie cutter life and made it scratch free in this world, I am happy for you. I hope it stays that way but I would never shy away from a shattered soul or someone with cracks. How would you grow if you only hang around individuals just like you? or people who have nothing new to teach or show you?

Until next time loves!
