Hi Dahlings,

Its officially 100% warm weather here on the east coast and I am thoroughly enjoying it.  I love to just sit outside and burn in the sun. I know that is not very healthy and hubby is constantly looking for shade and so is everyone else I have hung out with in the past few days. But it’s just something about the burn on my skin, maybe it comes from the fact that I grew up in middle east and that is how it is over there 365 days a year? You know you become accustomed to what you grew up with and any memory of it makes you feel like you are home.

On this particular day the weather was in the 90s and super sunny, I decided to pull out my brand new shift dress. Now if you have been following me around then you probably have never seen me in a shift dress before and even if you look at the pictures below, I am definitely not styling it as such. If you are like me then you must have noticed all the beautiful patterns that shift dresses come in and if you are bottom heavy you are thoroughly disappointed at how it sits on your body. The top becomes super lose and no matter how many size you go up, your butt seems to make the whole thing really tight and awkward. Worry not! I have the solution – just wear a belt! The belt helps your waist gets cinched in and lifts the dress just enough for your tushie to have enough room to move around!

With this new trick up my sleeve I have already started adding shift dresses to my arsenal of work/play wardrobe, depending on how you dress them – up or down. On this occasion we were just headed to dinner on a weekday and this look literally took me 15 minutes to pull together!

Let me know how you style your shift dresses and I would love to look at pictures of you sporting them, just share a link to your pictures below in the comments section!

Until next time my loves!
